Survivor Guilt

Survivor Guilt
She slides into my dream
Unravaged by age.
I plead down on my knees,
Scream at her in rage.

She silently smiles
And very soon I know
She'll fade from my dream
And so very quickly go.

I'll scream myself awake,
Scream awake my sleeping wife,
Not knowing how to explain
That visit from my earlier life.
Survivor Guilt.
