60's Philadelphia Youth Street Gang Warriors p

You can bet we never shied away from representing our set.

West Philadelphia was the venue for the Spades, 49th and Hoops, the Moon gang and the 56th and Lansdowne Avenue crew.

Sworn enemies never believing friends we could ever be. Swept up in teenage gang war neighborhood rivalries.

Easy to end up like toast. Fist, banister post, guns and knives. Out to maim not necessarily out to take lives.

Only through the acceptance of Islam did any of us survive.

Now unified in Deen standing side by side. Insha'Allah forever loving, praying, fasting together until the day we die.
