We all know that our death
is a certainty and is inevitable
and still, it has that effect on us
which is very hard to shrug off.

"What is the point in living
if we are going to die one day?"
I still don't know the answer
to that question, I ask myself.

We all try to be happy but
to be happy cannot be the
main goal of staying alive.
Happiness is very elusive.

Once I wrote living for others
a good thing but now I doubt
that to be the main purpose of
our life just living for others.

We came into this world alone
and will go alone so why the
drama about the life and not
live for ourselves until death.

"Man is a social as well as a
selfish animal" was a phrase
my teacher used to say and
he was absolutely right.

In this selfish world, it is futile
to be unselfish and try living
for others and not for ourselves.
We must look after ourselves.

Futile to be unselfish in this
uncaring and ungrateful world.
If we can't look after ourselves
how can we look after others!?
