 ramblings and things

The country is in a state
In deep hock to the banks
Rishi's got his bags packed
Ready to work for the yanks.
Sir Keir is getting ready for
That possible day when
He and his missis finally
Move house to number ten.

There's a feeling of anticipation
In this Politician's politics game
But for the Westminster piggies
Everything will stay the same.
Subsidised food drink and housing
Generous package if they lose
Juggling the odds for victory with
The election date they choose.

They'll all creep and crawl
As they canvass at the door
Then you can lick and stick 'em,
They won't need you anymore.
A change of Government maybe
But in reality only in name
For those folk at the margins
Everything will stay the same.

They expect us to feel grateful
Just for being allowed to live
While they openly salt away
Farr more than they ever give.
For the faithful at the bottom
Still the same rewards around
Either an urn full of ashes or
A hole dug in the ground
