Nobody cares for me and it doesn't matter
My God has my back, now and in the hereafter
alone am I, though in the best of righteous company
without any resources, few friends, little money
but never has he betrayed or left me alone
with me he stands, he carries me, and keeps me strong
so in the end as well as the beginning, upon all that is true
I claim allegiance to My God, I walk with you
Nobody cares for me and it doesn't matter
My God has my back, now and in the hereafter
he has secured my home with him, though I am homeless
without the comfort of a family, he is my sanity, I am blessed
but never have I called, and recieved not an answer
though not when I always want, he has answered my every prayer
so in the end as well as the beginning, upon all that is true
I claim allegiance to My God, I walk with you
Nobody cares for me and if they did it wouldn't matter
My God has my back, now and in the hereafter
no lover to comfort me, or hold my shaking hand
still I am relieved, for my God cares and understands
never will I forget, or betray my heavenly father
he loves me and upholds me, when many would not bother
so in the end as well as the beginning, upon all that is true
