Words and Verse

Going for a Walk

The Heavenly blue, with solar gold,
Irradiates the verdant green
Of grass-filled fields and distand woods
In splendor of earth's vernal sheen.

White whisps within the airy blue
Gleam, slowly gliding overhead,
And over there, within the field,
A flock of birds has lain their bed.

The scattered trees of grove and copse
Wave playfully their flurring leaves.
Petals of dafodils and violets
Bejewel the courtyards wind-swayed sheaves.

The wind, while swaying leaf and bough,
Flips these same pages in its breeze...
Why shouldn't it? These pages are
But wood and soil as are the trees.
