Poetic Verses

Journey

It matters not
the road you traveled
that brought you here today

What matters more
are the truths you have
to learn along the way

It matters not
from where you came
that crossed your path with mine

What matters is
we both got there
precisely the same time

To close our eyes
and not look back
on a path that was at end

Indeed a trip of courage
needing more than life
could lend

To find in tomorrow
whatever it was
we lost in yesterday

I'll hold your hand
if you'll hold mine
as we stumble along the way

As we travel on
we need not feel guilt
or shame or fear

We travel by wisdom
truth and hope
on a path destined so clear

A road paved of outstretched hands
and words said
with such care

In search of the inevitable dream
it's a road
we've come to share
