Poetic Verses
Awakening
In my awakening I but see
all the truths that have come to be and
I understand life cruel and kind
yet I stand but looking to something more
More than I
How I long to embrace the day
with fanfare and joyous sound
and sights that only please the eye
where everything I need is but to be
as I am
As I peek out from this scarred soul
I rejoice in simple truths found
and leave the complex to ponder
yet another day to travel that road
I am alive!
Alive and nothing more to take away
nothing left to steal or strip from me
I am as I am stark at destiny's door
awaiting the emergence of what is to be
Rebirth!
Only then will my soul be pure
it is then that my heart will be full
an everlasting smile will be on my face
to enter so complete a holy place
