Musings by The Poet Loriet

I Only Speak The Truth

The first time you kissed me,
my ink pen went crazy.
I stare at blank pages
and want to write about
love, love, love...

No, no,
write of other things.
I tell my pen this
to no avail.
It doodles hearts
and writes your name.

But I'm a POET, you dumb pen!
This pen makes me act
like a grade-schooler
with a crush.

I want to write of art,
history, science...
but all I can think about
is the way I feel in your arms,
and a poet's pen
never lies.
