For My Dad...
I sat and thought about you,
All the times we had...
And all the love you gave to me...
You were the greatest dad!
When I looked at you in peace,
Suddenly it all seemed okay,
For I wouldn't wish you back,
To suffer one more day.
You loved all your four grandchildren,
And you were worshiped by one and all,
If any of us ever needed you,
All we had to do was call.
You were always there for us,
And we were there for you,
I could never in a million words,
Describe my love for you.
Your love was insurmountable,
And your heart as vast as the sea,
I could never in a thousand years,
Describe what you mean to me.
Although you have had to leave me,
You will forever be in my heart,
And no matter where life leads me,
We will never, ever part.
For while I have my memories,
And as long as I draw breathe,
Nothing can ever part us...
No, not even death!
Each night as I look to the sky,
I see you twinkling above,
Looking down and loving me,
With total devotion and love.
What will I do without you dad?
How will I ease my pain?
Of course, as you would agree,
I will look to your star again.
Each night as I slumber in my bed,
Each night as I dream of you,
Each night I know you'll be watching me,
Each night, dad, as I think of you.
