A Synthetic Soul

Wolf (part 2)

Simple minded man you should have known.
You wouldn't stand a chance just you and I alone.
You were such a man I almost could confide.
If only you weren't human, that might have turned the tide.

You never should have touched my skin or talked to me that way.
Or made me feel so warm inside or allowed our differences to fade.
I told you it couldn't work, it was impossible to be.
You couldn't be perturbed, and fell in love with me.

You held me close, and only wanted to be there.
But I couldn't tell my secret, for I was far too scared.
Why couldn't you have listened, when I told you to go?
But can I really blame me; I didn't want you to know.

You never would have loved me, for what I really am.
You know only one half, you just couldn't understand.
You had to follow me off into the darkness of the night
Why did you have to know the secret I couldn't hide?

You loved me and you knew that I felt of you the same.
But you loved too much and brought yourself this pain.
Yet now you feel no more, as you're released from so called life.
But you got in too close, so this was your sacrifice.

I'm sorry it had to end this way.
I'm sorry for my secret, it was you who had to pay.
Unsure how this all begun. Here you're never more.
I hope you're happy now. Was I worth dieing for?
