Musings by The Poet Loriet
Always A Bridesmaid
Fate brought me to your doorstep, but
not because we were meant to be together.
I wish I'd known then that you
would both grow to hate me.
There is an old saying that
a married couple is like
a pair of scissor blades,
separate but joined,
and whomever comes between them
will bring them closer together
and they wound the invader
in the process.
So, here I am again,
a sacrificial lamb
all in the name of love.
Next time,
I want to be the scissors.
