Musings by The Poet Loriet

Cyrano

You said you were
Cyrano and I
was Roxanne,
that you wrote
the love scenes
and others lived
them.

I've never even
seen that play,
but I don't want
to see you as a
wallflower.

Dance with me.
Live...
what you write.

Together,
we can write
our own love story,
then re-enact it.

Besides,
you don't even look
like a Cyrano.
Your nose is
much nicer
in profile
really.

To me,
you'll always be
Romeo. So, I
need to speak
to your casting
director.

I want to see
your name in lights,
or at the very least
written in the stars
where you belong.
