Musings by The Poet Loriet

Pray With Me

You will always be my prayer,
the distant star I reach for
that seems merely a grasp away
when I'm in your arms.
You are my prayer,
your name muttered
from parched lips
gives me sustenance.
I need you
like I need water,
both holy and sacred
and the only things
I need to
make me wholly alive.
Put your hand in mine
and we'll kneel together.
You will always be
my prayer.
