No one Ever Told Me

Is this the reason why? Because I saw you cry.
I think about the day you said. You would love to see me cold and dead. Because the advent of this life
has caused you trouble, and brought you strife.
You told me tales and many stories, who knew
you were covered in such glories. Your beautiful children, your beautiful wife, spoke about you with so much affection.
Little did I know you needed protection.

No one ever told me you know, know one ever phoned me, or left a note, no one ever tried to keep your dreams afloat. So now I hear your sorrow, when you cry for the lost tomorrows, and all the time you cried on me, little did I know you lied to me.
