This Freaky Kind Of Love…
Love, we say it all the time don't we,
Profess it almost every day,
Hugs and kisses and cuddles,
And those three little words we say.
Show caring and kindness most of the time,
Help and support is all we do,
Then the flip side of the coin is…
The hell that we're put through!
Where words and deeds suddenly alter,
And the beatings start all over again,
Another saga in the life of the abused,
Another day of suffering hurt and pain!
This freaky kind of love is wrong,
Harmful bad and unkind,
For the hidden tale can't be told,
So it's the truth that we can't find.
So we hide our pain from the world,
Hide ourselves behind a mask of steel,
And all the while pretending all is well,
So they don't see the pain and hurt we feel.
This freaky kind of love…
How can someone be so unkind?
To torture and beat and abuse,
When the monster inside him is all we find!
In truth he's a person of violence,
Hidden in a heart so good and true,
Hiding it from the world around him,
So he only shows the good he will do.
A man of stature and worth…and wealth,
His pride always to the fore,
Yet once again, he's an abuser,
Hidden behind a tightly closed door!
He portrays himself to the people,
As a person of respect…!
When all the time, the monster is there,
The monster that's all she'll get!
He loves her, he really does…
But how can that be true?
When the violence so insurmountable…
Always show's itself through…
Beating, punching, battering her,
This father so violent is he…
Losing control, beating away…
The evil in him is all she can see.
Two people in the one body,
Two hearts the opposite, good and bad,
Two kinds of personality,
One that causes her to be so sad!
Why? Why? Why?
That's the question she'll always ask…
But one thing now is certain…
She will never again wear that mask!
Life moves into the future,
She left behind that life of pain,
And smiles away, every day…
For she had everything to gain!
She smiles away a beaming smile,
So that all the world wont see,
The pain and suffering that was her past,
They'll just see the happy person she'll be!
And happy she is, its no false show,
No hiding behind a mask of shame,
No more the battered and abused,
For she had a life to gain!
And gain she did, she learnt and grew,
Learnt behaviour stopped at her door,
Never again will she allow it in her life,
For the horrors of her past are no more.
This freaky kind of love…
For he loved her, yes, that's true,
But what kind of love is that?
It's not normal to me and you!
