Three Random Four-line Poems

Jazz

“AABA” the Jazz chord-changes thrall
To please the ear. With cadance too, they call,
As if the improv were a poem rhymed
A poem with no words...the best of all!

Seaside sunrise

The sunless sky, above the sea below,
Feels gold pierce through its cloak of darkling night,
And melts to crimson as it sets aglow
The shore and plashing waves with morning's light.

Lovers

These two, locked in a pure and sweet embrace,
Lie as though they were one...with face on face.
Their thoughts are by this single greivance haunted:
They lie in dark...but not the dark they wanted.
