 Penniluck's legacy

Almost A Woman

Sitting exams, boys and such things
Finding out just who you are.
Knowing it all yet nothing at all
Wondering if you`ve gone too far.

Almost a woman yet not quite there
Wondering just what you should do.
Dreaming and sighing, hurting and crying
Frustration a big part of you.

Fifteen years old a marvelous age
But not if you happen to be
The one who is questing and worrying when
Your parents will just set you free.

Oh my dear child I don`t patronise
For once I was your age and know
It is not easy with patience to wait
That age takes a long time to show.

Believe me my dear a blink is a year
And soon now I know you will see
How precious today will just slip away
And you will be old just like me.

Enjoy being fifteen although it might seem
For you time is just standing still.
My darling you`re wrong for it won`t be long
Until you can use your free will.

Be happy today spend time in play
Each birthday is special you know.
Enjoy yours my dear each day of the year
Remember you reap what you sow.
