A Single Tear
As pain surges through her body
Her heart feels heavy
Her eyes begin to swell and become cloudy,
A tear flows softly
Down the side of her face
She tries to speak
But words do not come,
Her throat is dry
The pain feels deeper than before,
There are no strong arms to hold her
No tender words to comfort her
No warm smile
To fill her heart with joy,
Her body begins to tremble
As she searches for reasons why
Tears come faster now
As her heart beats slower
She is alone, she is lost
