Maybe I`ll Be There.

Old and grey - alone wondering why.
Four walls - a window - sitting by the phone.
Well known chairs - a table - people passing by.
Silently she pleads - call me - anyone.
Talking in the background - a T.V. set - not watching
Only listening - just a voice.
Dozing in a younger world - suddenly alert
Was that the door - Oh God - not morning yet.
Making excuses like mothers do - they`re young
They think of me I`m sure - oh yes - they care.
Maybe tomorrow they will call me - daughter - son
And if they do - well maybe I`ll be there.
