(Free Verse)
I was thinking of all the heartaches
That I held in life so fast
Recall a hundred little joys and
Sorrows I have known
Unseen and silently growing are
The seed of a new season's birth
From toil the night would bring me
Again sweet release
After the grayest days of winter
The bright colors of Spring seem to shout
And violets from shady nooks
Peer out happy with purple face
Quiet autumn evenings and moments
I spent alone
Hear the sounds of music
Rustling in the leaves.
