Dark Poetry From A Twisted Mind

Pack Rat

Scattered notebooks
litter every crevice
of my house...

diaries
filled with stories
long-forgotten...

psychotic ramblings
from a time
when I resided
in a mental hospital--
times I wish
I could forget,
but friends
I miss
and will never see again--

some who slit
their wrists,
or vandalized cars,
or threw TV sets
at their mothers,
or set fire to their houses
while their parents were home...

Poems I've written
since I knew how to write,
pictures I've taped or glued
or stapled,
birth certificates,
social security cards...

movie tickets,
expired driver's licenses
I pretended
to have lost,
locks of hair,
old love notes...
things I couldn't
throw away.
