Clerk Kent

You're not the one sitting in front of the computer screen
10 hours a day 5 days a week
A little bit of polished wood with a few personal items
Please give me a little more importance

You're not the one married to someone
Who you're not in love with
But she is all I know
Sex twice a week, we don't talk much anymore
It has become a habit
I am too insecure to leave

You're not the one with a small baby
A girl, who looks nothing like me
I wanted a boy to keep the Kent name alive
I am too young for this
Working just to hold it all down

I am clerk, have been for years
Go out after work for beers
Leave early to get home to my wife
And parental responsibility
There are millions like me
But only one Mr Kent?
A real superman?
