The beeping horns that speed by
The planes that fly in the sky
The stampede of people going nowhere
The silence within the dirty looks and evil stare
The silent thoughts in the mad mans head
The lust within the bed
Those speakers with the heavy bass beats
The gossip spreading through the streets
The dirty dogs chasing the fickle cats
The sound of the arguments from the neighbour's flats
The silence in the tears on the woman's face
The sound of the bastard who puts her in her place
The screams of help that go unnoticed
The sound of money as another fools voted
The noise in the city and the noise on the farms
The silence of many with hidden charms
The sound of pain, happiness, the sorrow and the violence
But as we walk by, we pretend to hear the silence.
