Just Words
Clouded Thoughts
The nights they pass,
like shimmering clouds.
That told of our love
now hidden in shrouds.
So plain to see,
so bare this truth,
then why am I not there with you?
This other man now takes my place,
and in your heart he's filled my space.
The heartache I feel I cannot erase,
and my soul is in pieces what shall I replace.
Shall I start with my heart,
so withered, and frail.
Or my mind that I lost
the night that you bailed.
There is only one remedy
for this ailment I speak.
To retire from living,
only there I'll find peace.
like shimmering clouds.
That told of our love
now hidden in shrouds.
So plain to see,
so bare this truth,
then why am I not there with you?
This other man now takes my place,
and in your heart he's filled my space.
The heartache I feel I cannot erase,
and my soul is in pieces what shall I replace.
Shall I start with my heart,
so withered, and frail.
Or my mind that I lost
the night that you bailed.
There is only one remedy
for this ailment I speak.
To retire from living,
only there I'll find peace.
