The Bridge Too Happiness

They stand opposite each other
Both wishing they could touch the others face
The distance between them is too great,
Even though they are only a few steps away
It feels like miles
Are tearing them apart,
They are two different people
From two different worlds
Both searching for a chance
To become one,
The bridge which seperates them
Is small and bold
It urges them to cross and become one
It calls to them to take a step,
But caution and fear
Prevail over wisdom
As they both know of the danger that waits,
If one or the other
Should venture over the little bridge
Which divides their happiness
