The Children of Mexico

The ninos of Mexico laugh and play
Unknowingly in another world.
This is a place of hunger and strife.
The ninos, they don't see this.
They play with sticks and hand made toys,
Their faces are dirty,
Their teeth unclean.
Their clothes are tattered.
Their smiles so pure as compared to
People and children from my world of possessions.
These children live with no fear.
They breath in the dirt,
They eat very small,
if even at all.
They plead for the pesos,
with innocence in their eyes.
These children break my heart.
