Musings by The Poet Loriet

Wonderful You

How do you always know
how to read my words,
how to read me?
Others must think
that I'm crazy.
I write insane poetry,
but you can always
interpret hidden meanings.
You know me like
no one else ever could.

How do you do it?
You are simply magic.
When I am lonely,
and the nights are
never-ending, you know
how to make me feel loved.
When I am sad, despairing,
you alone know how to
pull me from the depths,
coax me to smile.

When you love me,
you know the secrets
to bring my passion
roaring to the surface,
how to make me howl
at a lover's moon
with shameless abandon.

You alone make me laugh too,
not a fake ha-ha-ha, but a
deep laugh that tickles
my toes, reaches the bottom
of my belly and makes me
throw my head back and laugh
until tears roll down my face.

Simply put, you make me feel
like I've never felt before.
I am fully alive,
my senses heightened.
I can be myself,
no need to put on acts
or wear my many masks.

Your words touch my soul.
You can peer into me and
read my inner secrets and
it's because you try.
You love me enough to
look beyond the bravado,
the despair, the passion
while others pretend not
to understand.

It's only you.
Always you.
I have loved others,
but my heart and soul
are in your hands.
Keep them safe until
the day we can reach
forever together.

And we will.
I will always be
your baby girl.
I still wait
to be your
everything,
your world.

For you only.
Just you.
You alone.
Beautiful
sexy
Wonderful
You.
