Should beast in toneless forest roar
Should thunder peal, should horn sound o'er
Should maiden's song from yon dell soar
To each sound will
You bear reply to answer for
The airy still
You answer to the thunder's flay
To stormy voice of ocean-spray
To shepherd's hail from far away
Reply you do
But unresponded to must stay
The poet...you.
