I hear someone knocking at the door.
I'm not really ready for company.
Will they leave if I just ignore
the knocks that have now become many.
I peek through the side window shade.
A stranger is still there waiting.
I find myself a little afraid.
Yet ,the visit may prove innovating.
I opened the door and asked him in .
He is tired and weary from his journey.
I feed him well as he seems quite thin.
He is smiling and very thankful to me.
He looks at me before he goes.
His eyes are soothing to my soul.
The door is now beginning to close.
Suddenly I feel spiritually whole.
A pleasant surprise came knocking today.
How lucky the visit was not rejected.
I will tell of the Angel that came my way.
Always be prepared for the unexpected.
