Musings by The Poet Loriet

DVD Darlings

My late-night companion and I
take our shoes off,
don pajamas, and fall together
on piles of quilted blankets,
stacks of fluffy pillows.

We drink wine, laugh, and
synchronize our potty breaks
at stopping points in the movies.

He watches chick-flicks with me.
We're getting to know
one another ...
one funny scene at a time.

I learned not to sing to
the soundtracks after he asked,
"Who sings this song?"
"The Counting Crows."
"Then...let them!"

We tickle each other,
have pillow fights, and
talk about our days as
Hollywood transforms our
innocent frienship into
spooning moments~cuddling
while silver screen stars
spoon out laughs.

With each film reel,
we entwine more intimately.
The night whispers
black and white shadows
and we become
DVD's Lil Darlings,
weaving color into
one anothers lives.
