From my mind

The Last Dragons Lair

The air it hung with sulphur and acid smoke
Burning my lungs and the back of my throat
Causing me to gag and causing me choke
In the smoke and mist I could not see him there

As I stud in the middle of the last dragons lair

All was blackest dark as I felt my way
And walked with care
For where he was hiding I just did not know where
My sword held high in gauntleted hand
And as I vowed for death or glory I would take my stand

As I crept around the last dragons lair

Then a snarl and he blew and snorted his fiery breath
And the cave was alight filling me with fear and filling with fright
A mouth full of razor sharp teeth and I knew he could kill with one fatal bite

Oh the fear the sight as I stud open mouthed in the last dragons lair

A swish of his great tail I ducked with the speed of light
If it had struck me I would be dead outright
An ugly green red-eyed winged monster was in my sight

As I stud agog in the last dragons lair

The bloody battle it commenced I fought with fury
With all my strength with all my might
Whilst it raged on for one full day and one full night
Now the body of the last dragon lies at my feet and he is dead
With the last ounce of strength and one mighty blow I lobbed of his head

Now I stand triumphant in the last dragons lair

Now there are no more dragons in this Fairland
Because the shining knight went in search and took his stand
He walked away with glory and this we understand
For it has been written the good will prevail and they will stand tall
The evil they will falter and they will fall.
