Teach me, O Lord, to follow your statutes,
I'll keep it till the end of the attributes;
Give me understanding and I'll keep the law,
I'll observe with all of my heart with awe;
Lead me through your path of laws and rules;
I delight for you keeping me away from fools;
Incline my heart unto all of the testimonies,
Allow me to take part in your ceremonies;
Turn away my eyes from beholding vanity,
Shield me from crime and vulgar profanity;
Give your word to one devoted to your fear,
Turn away my reproach which is far too near;
For your judgments are good, just and fair,
You always respond to requests in prayer;
Behold, I have longed after thy teaching,
Quicken me in thy righteous preaching;.
Let your mercies come also to me O Lord,
Show your salvation according to thy word;
I keep thy law continually forever and ever,
I'll walk at liberty for I seek the teacher.
