This is the day that our Lord has made,
Let's rejoice and be glad our debt is paid;
You mean that you don't know what debt?
A memory lapse that we so easily forget;
To think that we do it nearly every day,
Very seldom do we reconsider or delay;
Our actions for committing such acts,
We deny when confronted with the facts;
It's done without even thinking about,
And doing it never feeling any doubt;
What we do is never really amiss,
And actually makes you feel a bliss;
Maybe it just part of our existence,
We do not shield or have resistance;
It's a problem since the very start,
That Adam did contribute in part;
It is merely human nature within,
For us to be committed to sin;
But God so loved us that he gave,
For us His one and only Son to save.
