The Green Jackets! And All...
This fighting elite force of bodies,
Taking their job to heart,
Never falter, never waver,
Never not ready to start!
Waiting on the orders given,
To send them off to fight,
Lack of sleep, tired and worn,
And alert even in the dead of night!
They sleep with one eye open,
And always watch each others back,
Never moan or complain,
They just never have time to slack!
For alertness is the lifesaver,
To always be on your guarded mettle,
But still to hold a little fear,
For too confidant can be fickle and feckle!
You always need to have the edge,
To know that you have to be true,
And do what it takes, and never forget,
We are all there, in thought, with you!
So never waver, never falter,
And always remember this…
Life is not just a game of chance,
But a game of hit and miss!
Always at the ready,
Always alert and strong,
Always, always remember this,
You'll be back in the arms for which you so long!
