 Prophecy and Poetry

poetryandprophecypoetrypoemshelpandtipspoetryofadove
I dream of theater in my high school days
The excitement-nostalgia of being in plays
Rehersals...I remember most
Behind the scenes...the history ghost

Waiting for my time to go on
Practicing lines to perform
Sitting in the old dressing room chair
Tattered and torn ... I didn't care

Never cleaned odds and ends filled the room
Pan makeup, throat-spray, ratty vintage costumes
Cigarette smoke and history filled the air
Camaraderie, tears and jokes we shared

I loved theater - the sight..smell...feel
Behind the stage we all were real
On stage I could play and pretend
The adrenalin of the game was my friend
This was one time I truly felt free
I was there because I wanted to be
