We wove,
clashed,
blended,
bled,
knotted,
zig-zagged,
became seamless-

And then we tore
leaving jagged edges,
broken threads,
dangling pronouns.

Once, we were
as in tune with each other
as the two corners
of Mona Lisa's smile.

If we only knew then
that we would transform
from a shy sweet smile
into "The Scream."

Now, I've forgotten
how to thread
the needle.

Eye for eye,
our stability
remains
pierced
forever.
