Chase (Dreams)
open road,
empty town,
a paradise,
only i've found.
no city lights,
no traffic jams,
just the stars in the sky,
the road, and man.
no footsteps left,
no tire tracks,
discordance,
is all that lacks.
i'm alone here,
the way i like it best,
no reason to leave,
i'll stay i guess.
it's perfect here,
in my little oasis,
i travel in my dreams,
see my favorite places.
i like the tower best,
it's my favorite,
never been there,
maybe i'll visit.
the pyramids are cool,
i'm going there,
where are they, though?
where in my dreams, where?
i can't find them,
i know they're in me,
but are they really?
they've gotta' be.
there they are,
in the distance,
too far for me,
and my persistence.
i'll pass it up,
just this time,
i won't regret it,
i'm feeling fine.
i sat and watched,
as my dreams passed by,
i should've tried harder,
i break down and cry.
how'd i let this,
oppurtunity pass,
chances slimming,
down to my last.
it's looking,
worse and worse,
i'm dying, no crying,
all the way to my hearse.
it's over,
i'm dead,
no dreams,
in this head.
i didn't pursue,
i didn't chase,
after that oasis,
my favorite place.
it killed me now,
i'm dead, you see,
so follow my advice,
don't be me.
chase that place,
chase it down,
don't give up,
it must be found.
