Life is like time in a bottle,
All sealed up with treasured memories.
Should the bottle shatter,
Only newborn time can matter,
By mending each crack, as time goes by.
As a child I often wondered what life will bring me.
Will I have all that a girl wishes for?
Will I make the right decisions for what lies ahead?
Remembering the song, Que Sera Sera,
I too sang and wondered what the answers will be.
Learning from experience through time is one thing,
But parents' teachings one receives is another.
You, Mother and Father, gave me life's greatest teachings.
No school I attended offered what a daughter requires.
My wonders were answered and my needs fulfilled.
I made mistakes along the way and corrected a few.
Though I did not have children of my own,
I was gifted with strength to call my own.
Your caring, sharing, advise and respect,
Are gifts from the heart with wishes for only the best.
Thank you, Mother and Father,
For offering me all of your teachings.
God bless you for who you are and what you stand for.
May your goodwill towards all remain strong forever.
For it is you that has kept our family together.
Parents' teachings are the treasured memories,
That remain cherished within the time in a bottle.
Thank you God for watching over us all,
And for keeping us safe from evil and all.
Remaining devoted to you always . . . .
. . . .your daughter, Yana
