Old Man In The Cemeteryto the old man in the cemetery Slowly his old hands drop the flowers. as he dictates his love to his wife. he comes here twice a week. Tears come to the wrinkles in the corner of his eyes. His feet give out and he falls to his knees an old man begins to bawl. Tears hit the polished stone imprinted by by her name. Oh how he misses her. his memory is fading and he hopes her face with stay with him. He stands up shaking with emotion. An old man in a cemetery comes twice a week. Proclaims his love to his wife, and oh how he misses her. D. Cody Herring Copyright ©2003 D. Cody Herring Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
