An Unopened Book
Bedtime Stories
Children placed in anticipation at his feet.
Wide-eyed they listen to his tales,
of along ago and fantasy lands.
A princess meeting her prince,
a magic mirror or evil step sisters.
Each story told in a believable tone.
The children ask questions,
"Wait the best part is coming." He says.
Smiling at their excitement.
One by one the children,
their eyelids grow heavy,
as they listen to his loving voice.
Soon they all drift off to sleep.
As he gets up to leave he utters the words,
they all lived happily ever after.
