How They Fought, Vietnam Memorial

Dedicated to those who died for their country

Oh how they fought, how they died.
Over seas, so we can live better lives.
To protect the land, they hold so dear.
So that their families won't live in fear.
The horrible things they have to do,
just so me and you won't have to.
Putting their courage to the test.
Some will die doing their best.
So many will bleed, so many will cry.
Proclaim their love to their children and wives.
They grab their wounded, leave no one behind.
Their friends who had died,
Playing on their mind.
Search a wall of so many names.
Tears in their eyes, recalling the pain.
Fallen fathers, brothers, husbands, sons.
All fought in a war that no one won.
