Musings by The Poet Loriet
Open Letter to Mr. Obvious
So, Mr. Obvious...
did you honestly think
you were being the coy one
when you walked into the pub
with your trophy blonde
hanging on your arm and
your every word?
"Oh, what a coincidence
to find you here...
I was just going to call you.
The kids wanted to eat here,
how odd finding you here!"
How odd, indeed!
There ARE no coincidences
in your tidy sceanrio!
You thought you could
make me jealous,
prove you could date too.
When will you figure out
that I no longer care?
Save your Herculean efforts
to impress her, not me~
you're going to need them
(if she only had a brain!).
You found out I was dating
and wanted to intimidate us,
make us squirm...
you should have saved
your-barely-masked
with charm efforts.
The way you strolled in
with your ever cocky attitude
and pumped my boyfriend's hand
was quite amusing and certainly
took care of the lulls
in our conversation!
I've told him what a jerk you are,
but many thanks for the visual
on that one...
(not to mention
the comic relief)
You erased all doubt!
