Instead ( or ) A Parents Prayer...2001
Again I hold mt pen in place.*
Embodied by my own disgrace.*
Confused and taunted by my own needs.*
Afraid and haunted by my dreams.*
So now I lay me down to bed*
To try and rest my weary head.*
Should I die before I wake*
Heed not my example*
For thine own sake.*
Instead...*
Go not, my child, with trusting heart.*
Let no words of hate from thy lips depart.*
Allow no mortal to judge ye wrong.*
Be of strong will all your life long.*
Stead fast upon your values fair.*
Judge not your brethren; cause no despair.*
Pray for those who despise your name; *
And for you, our Lord will do the same.*
Forgive and cradle the faintest heart.*
Your reward will come when from this world you part.*
Hold not too tight of worldly things*
Like pots of gold and shiny rings.*
Behold the sparrow as she sings.*
Be not afraid to spread you wings.*
Fly as high as you can see.*
Resent not your trials.*
Set your spirit free.*
And as I lay me down to bed*
To try and rest my weary head*
Heed not my example, but my words instead...*
