Where Silver Tears Do Rust

Shall I ?...2000
Shall I be cast into the depths of hell
Where lost, tormented spirits dwell?
Shall my mortal deeds
Be counted good
For all of my years in and of this world?
Shall I be scorned and deemed unclean
For my transgressions cold and mean?
Shall I perhaps
Be envisioned fair
As a mortal woman
Who loved and cared?
I shall ask these questions time and again;
For I know that I live in mortal sin.
Perhaps you'll know me when I die;
Lay me 'neath an old oak tree.
Carve upon my head stone;
Humbly, she tried;
Then say a prayer for me...
