Our Family Tree

Alone and barren our tree stands
snow flurries dance through and on it
as winter comes and goes.

Alone, yet becoming full and leafy
our tree stands
Little buds almost in bloom
keeping wide our eyes
for the flowers we will see soon.

Bathed in pink with silver to hold it
spring soon fades away..
Taking our opened petaled glory
because now it's to hot
for these flowers to stay.

Brilliant green
the branches decorated
holding still, so still..

Although, with the blazing hot summer sun
the leaves colors seem to move
melt and change before our eyes
into oncoming autumn.

Turning red to gold to yellow
giving us one last beautiful show.

Our tree we watch
as we take in natures ballet
through this seasons dance formation.

All that our tree had carried
has dropped to the ground, making no sound
but 'tis not forever gone away.
