Rain
I sit out on this old porch swing
A song lost in thunder and lightning
How this rain, it keeps me bound
I'll be safe from harm, as it dances around
Sometimes it gets so hard to see
Like some answers in life have come to be
Soon the sun will break on through
No longer a captive within the blue
Tiny puddles spring up gracefully
I gaze into them trying to see
Wondering if I could maybe see you
Your face, my freedom, from an inner blue
I look for your smile to be my sun
Those eyes, to be my heaven above
Thunder and lightning, a play on pain
I know, only you, can stop my rain
