The Rose

A rose stands by a garden wall
Breathlessly waiting for Spring's thaw
Waiting for the sun to be again
Feeling the rain like a lost friend

These green petals need a newborn life
Reaching out to the breeze, it feels right
Seeds she'd shed in the months of June
Anxiously awaiting for the days she can bloom

Her splendid beauty she will share
Tantalizing perfume filling the air
But still she waits by her garden wall
Praying in silence for her Spring thaw

I feel so much like this red rose
By a garden wall, in silent repose
Waiting for you to bring the sun
For with you here, my Winter is done
