A Shadow
A perfect silhouette you see
A vision of someone, perhaps me
You lose it as you step from the light
Into darkness it goes on its plight
A faceless form, an endless beauty
Held to this world locked in duty
Not allowed to live or breathe
But not allowed to ever leave
A shadow creeps and it crawls
It yearns for sun and lightened walls
Waiting for its chains to be broken
Alone in silence of words unspoken
So think of your shadow as you walk away
Think of how lonely it must be today
Lost in the vision of the sight you posess
A shadow will follow until there's nothing left

Fae in Shadow by Mayfair
A vision of someone, perhaps me
You lose it as you step from the light
Into darkness it goes on its plight
A faceless form, an endless beauty
Held to this world locked in duty
Not allowed to live or breathe
But not allowed to ever leave
A shadow creeps and it crawls
It yearns for sun and lightened walls
Waiting for its chains to be broken
Alone in silence of words unspoken
So think of your shadow as you walk away
Think of how lonely it must be today
Lost in the vision of the sight you posess
A shadow will follow until there's nothing left
