 HOME OF THE FLOWING PEN

Burning Flame

Burning flame licking my fingertips
I reach for you but always miss
A hue of crimson, orange, and gold
A treasure there I want to hold

So close but do I dare to touch?
So beautiful I long for it so much
Just another thing out of reach
Just another thing that I must seek

Burning flame flickering so slow
I know that you too will eventually go
So I'll sift the ashes and look for your light
I need you now to chase the night

So far but once I felt your heat
So cold now that you chill me deep
Just another memory in my mind
Just another secret told in time

Burning flame in your palest glow
Your still holding this time, I know
Tell me what to do to fan your flame
I need the warmth of yesterday
